CLASSIFICATIONS

Every film, game or television has to be classified to be legally sold or released in Australia. The Classification Boards also decides on what is suitable for the particular audience under the determined rating. Consumer advice is designed to let consumers know which classifiable elements have led to the classification decision, e.g. Sex Scenes, Drug References, Violence and Nudity. Consumer advice helps you make the choice whether you watch the film or play game. The Classification Board provides advice consumers about classifications; they force to provide information of context that may have an impact on children. Impact is assessed by negative and positive views on the film or game. It is then considered rating by the board to be released to public.
